Good News
Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!” Mark 1:14 – 15
2020 may not be the year Jesus comes
But it is definitely the year that will revolutionise the gospel being preached to all nations, tongues and corners of the earth.
I am seeing more and more people share their faith on social media than ever before.
What I like about it is that it is not about religion but about God. I have watched over 100 videos and I don't know what denomination each of the people belong to. People are just sharing God and that replenishes my faith. I know that He is coming again and very soon.
I was talking to a friend of mine the other day. She has a YouTube channel and we were just discussing how so many people who have YouTube channels and blogs are often skeptical about talking about God on their channels and blogs. This is because so many people in the world do not believe and honestly that is not the type of content that usually goes viral.
When I started this blog I was also a bit skeptical not because I was afraid that people wouldn't read my blogs but because I didn't want to impose my beliefs on others. Later I realised that God played the biggest role in my life. He is the main character in my life story. Nothing that happens to me happens without God or prayer. I eventually started mentioning God in my blogs. I was telling anybody to believe in God; I was just sharing my experiences and how God has worked in my life.
We so often wonder why Jesus has not returned. We ask "How soon is soon?" I know some people even say "Yeah Jesus has been coming soon." It clearly states in Matthew 24:14 "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."
To answer the question 'Why has Jesus not returned?' It is because the message has not been preached to the whole world yet. Not every ear has heard the good new. Why has this not happened? Because we are too skeptical to share the gospel. We don't love our neighbors so they don't know Jesus. We don't help those in need so they don't experience the love of God. Our social media platforms are so focused on our earthly life that people don't know that we are anticipating heaven.
People haven't heard the gospel because we are not sharing the gospel. Imagine how much sooner His coming will be if we each went forth and just told one person daily about the love of God. You don't even have to preach to people. There are so many ways to introduce people to Jesus.
This year has proved that people will listen. People will accept and those that don't, you just have to pray that the holy spirit waters the seed you plant. The one thing we often get wrong is that we think it is our job to convert people. No it is not. You and I cannot convert anybody. That's why God only gave us the mission to spread the word and we need to let the holy spirit do the rest. We don't win people to Jesus because we impose and force our beliefs on them.
Remember when your parents used to force you to eat vegetables. Even though they are good for your body you resented vegetables. The same thing happens when we force religion or God on people. They will resent it.
So remember your mission is to share the gospel. The mission of conversion belongs to the holy spirit. Complete your mission with love, patience and understanding. The gospel Willbe preached to all nations and Jesus will soon return.
