War Room

Image
An extract from my prayer journal (War Journal) In 2015 the Movie War room was released and I remember how exciting I was to watch it after seeing the trailer. When I first watched the movie I was literally in tears (for my constant readers you probably already know I am a softy and a cry baby 😂). The message hit me so hard that to date I have watched the movie over 10 times.  I thought to myself 'I also want a war room'. I want a room where people walk in and they know that somebody has been praying in there. Unfortunately, I don't own my own house yet and I can't go around asking for an extra room when I am only renting one room. Later I realised that it wasn't about the room but the journey. It was about making prayer a habit.  In 2016 I bought and note book and adopted the habit of writing my prayers down. I had a format. I would start by writing down my requests in a list, then I would write down my prayer. Prayers also included thanks giving. Part...

Pieces of us

Image
I decided to tell a story by painting a picture. I will start with a pencil and outline our friendship Because that is where it all started. I remember the day I got a WhatsApp message from a strange number Being the direct person that I am my response was “Who is this and where did you get my number?” Despite my response that day I won a friend for life. We got talking and acquainted ourselves. Discovering each other made this journey fun. Our love for music enabled us to communicate at a higher level. Even in our long silent calls, we said more than we could ever say with words. Many people would find the silence awkward But it is in that silence that we find ourselves connecting. As I hold my paintbrush I decided that I will start with a tone of blue That symbolizes patience We both know that I am not the easiest person to connect with  Even so, you have been patient with me. You took time to break down the walls I had built Removing one brick at a time. A smear of y...

You Don't Need A Reason

Image
"It's over!" "This is not working." "I found someone else" "I don't love you anymore." Those are very painful and difficult words to hear from someone you love or have been in a relationship with. It can be comforting for you to at least get a reason to why something you thought was going so well has to end. Besides the fact that everything comes to an end, many people require a really good reason to end a relationship. If you need a reason, that is okay. But suppose that your significant other just can't give you a reason to why the relationship needs to end. There are various reasons why he/she claims that they don't have a reason. Here are some: Maybe there is a reason but they are too afraid to acknowledge it. They want to avoid confrontation. They care about you and really don't want to hurt. It really just wasn't meant to be. Any of these can be justified. Often people require a reason because they be...

Good News

Image
Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God is near. Repent and believe the good news!” Mark 1:14 – 15 2020 may not be the year Jesus comes But it is definitely the year that will revolutionise the gospel being preached to all nations, tongues and corners of the earth. I am seeing more and more people share their faith on social media than ever before. What I like about it is that it is not about religion but about God. I have watched over 100 videos and I don't know what denomination each of the people belong to. People are just sharing God and that replenishes my faith. I know that He is coming again and very soon. I was talking to a friend of mine the other day. She has a YouTube channel and we were just discussing how so many people who have YouTube channels and blogs are often skeptical about talking about God on their channels and blogs. This is because so many people in the world do not believe and ...
